This week is Red Ribbon Week at Delight and Murfreesboro Elementary. Throughout the week we will be discussing why it is important to live a drug free life and say no to drugs. This year we are also focusing on living a healthy lifestyle and staying active. We would like for families and students to participate by taking or sharing pictures of their favorite activity that helps them stay healthy and active with the caption #SPCRR19. We will be selecting a photo to win a free 1 hour jump pass that was donated by iJump in Texarkana. We will be selecting a picture on Friday!

Because of the skills picked up in MHS’s Social Media course, Hannah McKnight was recently hired as the social media manager for a local business. Hannah replaced a California company that was originally hired for the job, but was unsuccessful in the desired outcome. Hannah’s job includes advertising, graphics, and all things social media. Congratulations, Hannah! #GoRattlers

Michael took the initiative to create an amazing project. He used Scratch, an MIT developed visual editing website to remix a game. Using his skills in block coding, he changed the game to make it follow his own rules. Next, he built a character with Tinkercad, a website using digital graphics. He learned to place, resize, group, and align objects on a grid until his character was complete. Using our schools 3D printer, he learned how to download the software to print an actual 3D model. To finish his project, he borrowed supplies from our art department to paint the character. We are impressed with his motivation and ability to mix so many important resources to make something of his very own.WAY TO GO, MICHAEL!!

Choices, choices! Congratulations, Jakob, on your acceptance letters from @ArkansasTech and @ucabears
