Due to the rapidly increasing number of students and staff out with the flu, the SPCSD will be closed Friday, February 2 and Monday, February 5, in an effort to curb the spread of the sickness. We will utilize our AMI system for these two days. The AMI work may be completed at any time during the span we are closed due to the sickness, or as make-up work after we return We are sorry for any inconveniences caused by this decision, but it is in the best interest of our students and staff. All school sponsored activities during this time will either be cancelled, or postponed.

Attention SPCSD Patrons, As you know, we have several students/teachers out that have been confirmed to have the flu. The number of confirmed cases has steadily grown the past few days. Symptoms include stuffy nose, headache, stomach ache, sore throat, and cough. Many have been confirmed with the flu without running fever. In an effort to curb the spread of sickness, we are asking parents to keep your child home if they exhibit these symptoms. it is advised to see a doctor for treatment, but if not, stay home at least until the symptoms go away. If you are worried about absenteeism, contact your child's principal. If the number of confirmed flu cases continues to increase, we will consider closing school. If this happens, we will utilize AMI days for this purpose. Hopefully, we will not have to do this. Thank you, Roger Featherson.

Clarification on the snow day work for AMI days: The students will have work in their google classroom/paper packet for each class that meet on the day we miss school. We understand that not everyone has internet. All students will have one day of work for each class missed, and for each day missed. Once we are back in school, they will have 1 day to make up the work for each day we missed school. If the work is not done, the student will be counted absent and get a zero for the day's work. Hope this clears up any confusion.
