Lady Rattler Softball has added a game for Thursday March 3rd @ Murfreesboro vs Ouachita. The first pitch will be @ 4:30, Varsity with JV to follow.

Rattlers take 5th place at Black Bayou Lake, LA in the Ark-La-Tex Bassmaster High School tournament trail. After 3 tournaments, Asher Williams and Caleb Kuykendall are sitting in 10th place in Anglers of the Year points in this trail! #GoRattlers

MHS EAST students recently submitted various projects for the 2022 EAST Conference set to be held March 15th-17th. These three teams were chosen as the top three “Competition Finalist”for their category. Drone competition: Austin Jackson and Valorie Lott with “Drone out Reality” Intentionally Inventive Marketing: Alyssa Jones, Kara Jackson, and Allison Stinson with “MHS Archives” Picture this Competition: Caleb Humphry and Alyssa Ruiz with “Creative Critter” The winners will be selected in March at the EAST conference, so stay tuned to see what our Rattlers do! #GoRattlers

SPCSD will implement a 2 hour delay starting time in the morning Thursday, February 24. We will start school at 10:00 am and buses will run accordingly. If weather continues to worsen, we will update again in the morning. Please stay warm and be safe!

The South Pike County School District substitute teacher portal is announcing two new programs, ESS referral program and the new ESS Kickstart program. Individuals may now earn $100 for each successful substitute referral. The referral program is not limited to school district staff members and current ESS employees. Parents and community members can also participate. The Refer A Friend program coupled with the ESS Kickstart program is an awesome opportunity for individuals to earn $100 and new hires to be compensated for the background check fees. The MHS teachers and staff were honored with an Educators Day food display today! Mrs. Wesson, FCCLA, and the FACS students showed out to show our educators some appreciation! MHS would like to thank the teachers, staff and students for being the best everyday! #GoRattlers

Rattler Fishing! Attention SPCSD grades 5-12 if you have any interest in finding out more about joining the Rattler Fishing Team and fishing the Bassmaster High School Series tournaments, there will be a meeting at 5 pm Thursday, February 17th in the gym. Jason Townsend, Tournament Director for the Ark-La-Tex Bassmaster High School Trail and fishing coach for Genoa Central will be there to talk about the trail and help us get a Rattler team started! There are six High School B.A.S.S. sanctioned tournament trails in Arkansas so plenty of opportunity for scholarships and for making it to the State and National Tournaments! The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Arkansas Rural Development Commission, and the Department of Commerce Division of Rural Services just awarded Mr. Lamb and the SPCSD Rattle Traps a grant in the amount of $4473. These funds will be dedicated to the necessary items needed for shooting sports! Way to go, Mr. Lamb! #GoRattlers
