Celebrating Excellence: Ms. Jane Caldwell, Teacher of the Year
We are honored to announce the Murfreesboro Elementary School Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year: Ms. Jane Caldwell! Her dedication to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment has left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues alike.
A Natural Teacher at Heart
At the Chamber banquet, Mr. James praised Ms. Caldwell as a natural teacher who transforms everyday moments into teachable experiences. Her ability to ignite the spark of learning in every person she interacts with is truly remarkable. To step into Ms. Caldwell’s classroom is akin to entering a live television show, where education is infused with facts, fun, and the pure joy of learning.
Creating a Joyful Learning Environment
This year, Ms. Caldwell’s first graders have embarked on a journey filled with excitement and exploration. Each lesson is a new adventure:
Open House Adventure: Students were welcomed aboard a pirate ship, setting the stage for an immersive study on the "r" sound.
First Day Surprise: A suit of armor greeted students, introducing a word study with flair.
Squeaky the Mouse: This whimsical character rides a bicycle into the classroom, delivering new words and sparking curiosity.
Hands-On Learning: Students ground corn and churned butter to complement a story in their reading books, culminating in baking cornbread.
Beaver Study: When learning about beavers, students used real sand, sticks, and mud to construct their own beaver lodge and dam.
Charlotte's Web Experience: Ms. Caldwell brought her pony, Gus, to the school, enriching the reading of Charlotte's Web with a memorable real-life connection.
Inspiring Young Minds
These examples illustrate just a fraction of the excitement Ms. Caldwell brings to her classroom. Her innovative ideas and adventurous spirit continually inspire her students to learn and explore. Under her guidance, learning to read becomes an exhilarating journey.
Words cannot fully express how fortunate and proud we are to have Ms. Caldwell as part of the Murfreesboro Elementary family. She is truly sculpting the minds of our young learners, preparing them for a bright future. Congratulations, Ms. Jane Caldwell, on this well-deserved recognition!

It's a home Game Day! #GoRattlers
