
Rattler Alumni Madison Humphry and Rattler Softball hosted a hitting clinic June 22-23rd at the high school activity center. 21 girls in all participated in the hitting clinic and learned valuable skills toward their hitting techniques. Thank you to all the campers that attended. #GoRattlers



MHS BETA Club recently traveled to Louisville, KY and competed at the National Convention.
Dusty Lee received 8th in biomedical academics. Levi Cherry received 4th in social studies academics. Joshua Kuntz received 9th in performance vocal solo and had the honor of being a premier performer. Dani Synco, Alec Sigman, Levi Cherry, and Dusty Lee received 5th in quiz bowl. Congratulations!

The Arkansas Activities Association mandated "dead weeks" for 2023 are June 25 until July 8. All athletic facilities on the SPCSD campus will be closed during this time. Additionally, coaches (licensed teacher coaches and registered volunteers) shall be prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student-athletes whether it be practice, training, weight lifting, competition, or travel.

Lady Rattler Basketball Practice Update: Our weight room and open gym sessions for Monday June 19th have been cancelled due to power outage at the school. We will pick back up on Tuesday if power has been restored. #GoRattlers

Rattler Basketball: Junior Boys basketball will be done with practices and camps for the month of June. Anything on schedule remaining this month for junior boys has been cancelled. Their next practice scheduled is July 12th at 4:00 pm in the gym. #GoRattlers

Murfreesboro will host a Softball Hitting Clinic June 22nd and 23rd in the High School Activity Center. Hand/Eye coordination, breakdown drills, front toss, machine pitch, tee work, etc will be the main focus for campers. Come and work on your skill and get great feedback and instructions from Collegiate Player Madison Humphry and Rattler Softball members. #GoRattlers

Today is a bitter sweet moment at South Pike County. We are celebrating the retirement of a few of our amazing staff members. We would like to honor Ms. Cindy Cobb, Mrs. Tonia Briley, and Mrs. Deborah Huffman for their years of service with our school district. We will miss you all and wish you all the best!

Creative Communications, a publication celebration of today’s writers, is publishing a poem from one of our very own students. MHS's Gianna Draper submitted an original piece entitled "Broken Chains" to the Creative Communications poetry competition. Only 30 entries were accepted from young writers in grades 7-9. As a top 30 finalist, Gianna's poem is now in the running for a top ten ranking. Congratulations, Gianna, on your success! #GoRattler
