MHS Homecoming Announcement 2021 #GoRattlers

It’s officially Homecoming week and we would like to congratulate Queen Denim Lee and the 2021 Rattler Homecoming Court. Please join the homecoming royalty this Friday in cheering on our Rattlers as they take on the Horatio Lions! #GoRattlers

Congratulations to our MHS Rattler, McKenzie May, on getting accepted into OBU! McKenzie has a promising future ahead of her as a special education teacher. Thank you, McKenzie, for being an outstanding and accomplished student. #GoRattlers #GoTigers

MHS would like to give a shout-out to the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Delight for the donation of sanitation supplies for our classrooms. We are grateful foe such a supportive school community! #GoRattlers

School has been in session for nearly three weeks now and it has been a great start! Students and teachers seem to be really excited about being back in school! We are seeing an increase in COVID cases in our district. We also are seeing “quarantine casualties” due to not being able to social distance and not wearing masks. It is highly recommended that students and staff wear face coverings indoors and in school vehicles if you are not able to social distance. According to the Arkansas Department of Health and Department of Education guidelines, individuals exposed to a confirmed case of covid will not need to quarantine if the individual exposed has no symptoms and both the infected and exposed individual consistently and correctly were wearing a mask. In other words, if everyone wears a mask correctly when not social distancing, everyone could stay at school unless they are ill. This could help parents and guardians keep their regular work schedule too! Also fully vaccinated students or staff do not need to quarantine if deemed close-contact, unless they have or develop symptoms of COVID. Our district does not have a mask mandate at this time. If everyone will do their part and wear a mask indoors when social distancing is not possible, the number of quarantines will go down and student learning and activities will be less impacted. The elementary P.E. Program will be selling MES T-shirts to help raise money for new equipment. This order also includes options for cooler weather such as sweatshirts and hoodies. Order forms we’re sent home today and are due back by September 17th.

7th Grade and Junior High football will be traveling to Magnet Cove tomorrow night. 7th Grade will start at 5:30 and JR High will start at 7:00. #GoRattlers

We would like to give a big thank you to Delight First Baptist Church for donating lunch boxes and clothes to the elementary for students! We will be sure to send them to students who need them.

Don’t forget to get your 2021 Rattler Football shirt ordered. Tomorrow (Monday, Aug 23) is the last day to order. Orders are due by NOON to either the high school or elementary office.
